Course of a game
A game begins when the players choose the champion they are going to play. One by one and in turn, each member of each team will select a character. This becomes visible to the opposing team, which can then orient its composition accordingly. Indeed, a good team composition is very important: some characters have skills that complement each other and that it is good to put together in the same team, while others will be played to specifically counter the choice of opponents. Each character is generally suitable for one or two different roles (jungle or top, for example), depending on the desire of the player.

Even before the selection of champions, each person specifies the role to which they want to be assigned. Here are the 5 roles that make up a team:
The Toplaner: It is placed on the top path, the "toplane". They are generally played hand-to-hand champions, who will tend to greatly increase their number of hit points during the game, in order to draw attention to them and protect their most fragile allies.
The Jungler: The jungle separates the three paths where the champions compete and is populated by neutral monsters. The role of the jungler will then be to kill the said monsters in order to gain experience, then to "ganker": come on one of the paths in order to lend a hand to his allies and allow to kill their adversaries.
The Midlaner: The path to the center, or "midlane", is the playground for mages and assassins. Not very resistant, these characters do on the other hand large damage from a distance in a very short period of time; their mission will therefore be to surprise opponents and quickly eliminate the most fragile of them.
The Carry AD or ADC: It is a duo on the way down, the "botlane", with its support. Like the midlaner, it has few hit points but does great damage, which it does over a slightly longer duration. During team fights, he must be able to stay behind while applying his damage without being hit by opponents.
Support: He too on the botlane, the support must protect his partner at all costs. Utility in nature, the support is often a character capable of healing its allies or blocking its adversaries to allow the midlaner or the carry to inflict their damage without being disturbed.

Eliminate your opponents during the game earns gold in game. Gold allows you to buy equipment for your champion, the equipment used to improve the damage that his champion can do. The more a character is improved by his equipment, the more easily he will kill his opponents; he can then still buy additional equipment, etc. Each character killed takes several seconds to return to the game, giving opponents time to destroy turrets and advance to the enemy base.
The game is divided into several phases of play. The phase of "lane" sees opposing the characters present on each channel, each trying to gain the upper hand over his opponent. The junglers come as reinforcements to the "lanes" when they can in order to tip the scales. After about fifteen minutes, the characters will tend to regroup to move on to the team combat phase and take advantage of the various possible synergies between the champions. This is where everything becomes very strategic: you need a good vision of the game and reflexes to move and attack in the right place at the right time, chain on taking the right objectives, etc.
Here is an overview of how part of League of Legends works. Many subtleties complicate and complete the game; do not hesitate to ask your children to learn more!
Manage play time
League of Legends is a game that works with time-limited games. Unlike a narrative and solo adventure game, once in play the player cannot save or pause at any time: if he leaves a game unexpectedly, it is four other people that it penalizes and which, left to 4 against 5 players, now have a 90% chance of losing. Not to mention that he will be "postponed" for having left a game in progress, and will then be likely to receive a reprimand, even a sanction such as a temporary banishment from his account.
We therefore advise you, rather than giving your child a defined playing time, to fix together a limited number of games. Count on average 30 to 45 minutes per game (this can be shorter, rarely longer), and remember to specify in advance.

if he / she can start again if the first lasted only 20 minutes, that is to say the minimum time of a game. If you want to enforce specific times, give both: "We eat in an hour, so if your first game lasts more than 25 or 30 minutes, you don't raise a second one. You can directly check where the game is: at the top right of the screen is displayed the playing time counter, which starts after the selection of the champions, as soon as the players are in the arena.
